With its wide F/2.8 constant aperture, the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 SP AF XR Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Lens is a superb high-speed wide-angle-to-medium-telephoto (26-78mm equivalent) zoom that lets you create natural-looking pictures in almost any light, and shoot at faster shutter speeds too. One of the most compact and lightweight lenses in its class, its shallow depth of field at wide apertures allows you to create dramatic pictorial and portrait effects by softening background details so the subject looks more vibrant and three-dimensional. 

The Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 is a lightweight, compact, fast standard zoom lens that features the Di-II design, which means it is exclusively for digital SLR cameras. Portrait shots are made beautiful with the natural out-of-focus effect characteristic provided by the fast F/2.8 aperture. Additionally, a broader photographic expression through the use of faster shutter speeds as a result of the maximum aperture offers enhanced photographic pleasure.
