It has 17 elements arranged in 11 groups, which includes 3 Low Dispersion elements to correct chromatic aberrations and color fringing. An eBAND coating is applied to the lens, which ensures clarity and saturation by minimizing ghosting and lens flare. Also, the fluorine coat on the front element resists dust and moisture. The Ultrasonic Silent Drive AF offers a fast autofocus performance without making any noise. The 9-blade diaphragm creates a rounded bokeh. The Vibration Compensation IS reduces camera shakes when using handheld shooting techniques. The Dual Micro-Processing Unit boosts the performance of both AF motor and VC image stabilization. This lens has a magnesium-alloy body with weather sealing that makes it work in extreme environments. The TAP-In console compatibility allows you to fine-tune the focus setting and update the firmware of the lens.
