Overview

The SP 150 to 600 mm F/5 to 6.3 Di VC USD Lens from Tamron covers the telephoto to super-telephoto range, and is suitable for use with APS-C and full-frame DSLR cameras from Canon. Offering a zoom range of 4x, this lens can be used to photograph a wide range of subjects. It features a construction of 20 elements across 13 groups and has 3 aspherical elements built into the front group to reduce on-axis optical aberrations across the entire zoom range. This telephoto lens offers rich contrast and excellent color rendition, thanks to the eBAND and BBAR coating on the lens elements. These coatings help reduce the effects of lens flare and ghosting, thereby enabling you to shoot crisp and clear images. The unique USD (Ultra Sonic Drive) motor of this lens enables a sharp, precise, and whisper-quiet autofocus performance. Even when operating in the autofocus mode, you can conveniently focus the lens manually. The focusing mechanism of this lens is optimized to reduce the movement of the lens elements, enabling it to maintain a form factor that is light and compact.

very reasonably priced long range lens

I have used a lot of Tamron and Canon lenses, but this one surely gives a lot of bang for the buck. The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens is almost equivalent in quality and performance to some of the more expensive lenses out there. I found it to be sharp and clear at any focal length. I use it with my Canon 60D and Canon 6D, and have had no complaints so far. It is obviously heavy, just like any other large telephoto lens. I mostly use it with a tripod mount. Also, the weight is not such a big issue with its excellent balance. This is a very reasonably priced long range lens.

Good Autofocus

The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens has exceeded my expectations. I mostly use this lens for wildlife photography, and it has delivered everything I could ask for and more! It is easy to use and very well built. It gives such great value for money! It took me just a little practice to fully understand the lens and get the most out of it. The photos taken with this lens are extremely crisp and detailed. The auto focus is as quiet as it gets, and extremely fast. It is definitely one of my favourite Tamron lenses!

I only started using this lens a month ago, and I can say that this is now my favourite out of all the Canon lenses and Tamron lenses I have used so far. I am a wildlife photographer. From birds in flight to perched ones, I have been able to take many beautiful shots with this lens and the details are excellent. It is undoubtedly bulky, but this issue can be easily combated with a monopod. I love the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Good for Outdoor photography

I had to wait for long to finally get my hands on this lens, but it has been worth the wait and the money. Even with small hands as mine, I haven’t had much of a problem handling this lens. In fact, I remove the tripod handle as it adds more weight to the lens. I find it very inconvenient to shoot with a tripod since I am a wildlife and nature photographer, especially when capturing subjects in swift motion. All in all, this lens has helped me to step my photography game up!

High Speed Camera

I majorly use this lens to shoot landscapes and wildlife with my Canon5D Mk II. The first thing I noticed about the lens was its big size and how heavy it was. It is fine for hand-held shots, but I prefer to use it with a tripod or mono-pod. To use it hand-held, it is easy to remove the tripod mount. I get great shots using this lens. The balance with my camera is perfect. The vibration compensation is a very strong point. When I’m shooting in manual mode at a high shutter speed, I usually need a lot of light.
