Get the ability to cover the range from 70 to 200mm where much of the telephoto action occurs with G lens refinement and class. A constant f/2.8 aperture affords some significant photographic advantages, making it easier to create beautifully defocused backgrounds, but more importantly allows you to use faster shutter speeds to achieve equivalent exposure, making it possible to capture motion that might end up as a blur with a slower lens.

Telephoto Zoom

This superb 70-200mm zoom lens is an excellent choice for a wide range of medium to long-distance telephoto applications. (35mm equivalent when used with APS-C format cameras: 105-300mm.)

G Series Optical Performance

Circular Aperture

Focus Range Limiter

Used when you need the quickest possible autofocus response within a certain focal range. The lens will only autofocus within the set range eliminating AF at focal lengths outside.

Works with Optional Teleconverters

Compatible with optional Sony SAL14TC (1.4x) which extends focal length to 280mm (35mm equivalent when used with APS-C format cameras: 420mm) and SAL20TC (2.0x) teleconverters which extends focal length to 400mm (35mm equivalent when used with APS-C format cameras: 6900mm). Teleconverters are compatible with manual focus only.
