Overview

The Sony Alpha a5100 is a compact and high-speed mirrorless camera that gives you superb imaging performance. This camera has a 23.7 MP Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor providing superlative images with outstanding details. This camera has a 3 inch TFT LCD screen which offers brilliant display quality. It has a Flip-up feature that enables you to compose perfect selfies. The camera is powered by a BIONZ X image Processor. This processor gives you a super fast burst rate of 6 FPS. It also enhances the light sensitivity and color reproduction of the camera giving you superb quality pictures. Advance connectivity features like WiFi and NFC helps you in instant sharing of the images and videos.

Optics and Focus

This camera has a Sony E-mount and comes with a 16-50 mm lens. It offers you a focal length of 24 mm to 77 mm (35 mm equivalent). This lens provides you with an aperture range of f/22-f/32 to f/3.5-f/5.6. It features optical steady shot image stabilization feature that gives you blur-free crystal clear images. The camera has an amazing 179 AF points auto focusing system that provides pinpoint focus on the subject be it anywhere in the frame. It also features an AF illuminator that enables you to capture images with maximum focus even in extreme low light conditions.

Sensor and Display

The camera has a 23.7 MP Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor that offers high-resolution images which is comparable to any high-end DSLR camera. The gapless on-chip lens structure provides ultra-fine details and light sensitivity. This camera has a BIONZ X processor which offers a fast response rate and burst speed. This image processor also improves the color reproduction of the camera giving you rich and vibrant pictures. The camera features a 3 inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 921,600 dots. It has a 100 percent frame coverage enabling you to compose the frame accurately and perfectly.

Images and videos

The camera has many creative effects like posterization, pop color, retro color, partial color, monochrome, HDR Painting, miniature and watercolor. These effect enhances your images and videos and adds an artistic twist to it. The camera provides you with an ISO range of 100 to 25600. This wide ISO range helps in capturing bright and well detailed images in low light condition. The camera has a shutter speed of 1/4000 to 30 seconds. It also has bulb shutter which provides a total control over the shutter speed of the camera to the photographer. This camera can record videos in Full HD at a frame rate of 60 FPS. The high frame rate and resolution gives you a magnificent and cinematic video output.

Other Features

The camera has a Self-timer feature with a shutter delay of 2 to 10 seconds. This feature is extremely useful when capturing group pictures. It is also useful in composing shots with high exposure times. The HDMI connectivity of the camera allows you to connect it with an HDTV and directly view videos and images on the TV screen. This camera has inbuilt WiFi, and NFC feature enables you to share video and pictures wirelessly to a smartphone or a Tab.
