This versatile lens works with Nikon cameras having the F mount. The optical design of the lens has 19 elements in 14 groups. Three SLD elements are included to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations, while four aspherical elements help reduce spherical anomalies and improve image sharpness. The super multi-layer coating addresses issues of ghosting and lens flares and enhances contrast. This lens is equipped with a Hyper Sonic AF motor for quick and silent autofocusing. The nine-blade diaphragm provides a smooth bokeh effect on images. Thanks to the Optical Stabilizer, camera shakes are reduced, ensuring fluid pan and tilt movements when shooting handheld. The lens body is made of a composite material and has a brass bayonet mount.
