Overview

Equip your Sigma SA SLR or mirrorless camera with the Sigma 70–200mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens to take crisp and vibrant photos of distant objects. There are 24 optical elements in the lens construction, of which 10 exclusive low-dispersion elements work to keep various distortion at bay. The front optical glass has a water- and oil-repellent coating to allow easy cleaning of moisture. As for the autofocus performance, the Hyper Sonic Motor AF carries out the overall operation at a fast pace while remaining silent. The manual focus override enables you to get critical focus on an object. This Sigma lens uses an intelligent optical image stabilization for controlling unwanted camera shakes. The 9-blade electromagnetic diaphragm ensures quick exposure-response as well as creamy bokeh. You can connect the lens to the optional Sigma USB dock for adjusting the focus parameters and giving firmware updates. The dust- and moisture-sealed construction keeps the lens functional in extreme weather.

Elements / Groups: 24 / 22
Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
