Designed for Canon EF cameras, the lens is ideal for sports, wildlife, travel, and in-studio photography. It is the world's first zoom lens that provides 10× optical zoom. The lens construction uses 25 optical elements in 19 groups. There are three F Low Dispersion elements and a single Special Low Dispersion glass lens to control color fringing, and maintain color neutrality. The lens design also minimizes spherical distortions at the edges on wide focal lengths. A special oil-repellent coating is applied on the front element to preserve its overall quality. The Hyper Sonic Motor is housed in the lens for quiet and accurate autofocus. You can also override the AF parameters anytime to attain critical focus. The intelligent optical image stabilization is upgraded with the latest algorithm to reduce camera shakes by 4 stops. As this Sigma super telephoto lens is made for outdoor photography, it is treated with weather-resistant seals at critical points such as the lens mount and control rings. With the provided tripod socket, the lens gets additional support when mounted on a tripod.
