The lens is designed to cover full frame sensors, and it has a 15-elements-in-11-groups that ensure consistent peripheral brightness and sharpness. Sigma has concentrated on providing greater edge-to-edge performance with its lens, even when using the maximum aperture setting of f/1.4. It has a combination of three FLD, four SLD, and a pair of aspherical elements help reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions.
