The RODECaster Pro Integrated Podcast Production Studio combines the features of a mixer, sound effects player, phone tap for taking phone calls, recorder, and more. This controller saves you the time of setting up all of the different components individually, at a cost significantly lower than buying them separately. It provides you with a powerful platform to get started with ease, recording studio podcasts or podcasts on the move. The RODECaster Pro features an internal recorder, as well as a host of podcast-friendly features. This controller lets you produce and mix podcasts on the go with up to four microphones, music, prerecorded segments, and remote guests on calls all at once. It provides you with mix-minus functions over the TRRS, Bluetooth, and USB connections, creating echo-free interviews via phone or app calls. Including podcast-designed features like main host channel controls, programmable sound pads for launching jingles, FX, this device is designed to meet the exact needs for a podcast. Its APHEX processing gives your voice the rich and warm sound of a professional, making this console destined to be a regular in the field of podcast production. The RODECaster Pro goes beyond what a traditional mixing console can accomplish. It is equipped with four high-quality XLR microphone inputs, four headphone outputs, eight faders to control audio levels, and Bluetooth, USB, and TRRS connectivity. The unit records audio internally to a microSD card, or to your computer via USB, and its flexible workflow lets you record a mixed-down stereo file for quick uploading to your hosting service, while also recording each of the individual microphones' audio onto its own track for later post-production. Easy to operate with user friendly located controls, as well as a large full-color touchscreen, the RODECaster Pro is ready to use within minutes of opening the box. Just add microphones (such as the perfectly matched Rode PodMic), broadcast boom arms, headphones, and a microSD card, and you're ready to record your podcast, or to begin streaming it live via your computer or smartphone.
Start a 4-Person Podcast:
Connect microphones with ease for you and your guests (up to four people). All four high-quality microphone XLR inputs, each with 48V phantom power, are designed to power studio condenser microphones as well as conventional dynamic microphones. With automatic level setting and one-touch recording to your microSD card, you can start recording podcasts within minutes of taking the RODECaster Pro out of the box. The onboard presets for a variety of microphones deliver broadcast-quality sound.
Sound Pads (8) With FX:
Sound effects are great for giving your podcast a special feel, and the 8 sound pads allow you to launch effects with a single touch. With the press of a button, you may add music, applause, jingles, prerecorded interviews, or ads. This saves you the time and hassle of adding these things later on in post-production. You are able to record audio directly to the pads from any of the audio inputs, or simply drag files from your computer using the RODECaster Pro app (free DL). You can even coordinate color of your choice for the pad illumination to remember which effect is on which pad.
Interview a Guest Via Phone Call:
The RODECaster Pro allows you to interview guests for your podcast remotely, via a phone call. It also allows you to do so through apps like FaceTime, Skype, and more. You are also able to prevent echoes by simply connecting your smartphone to the RODECaster Pro through Bluetooth or TRRS cable, or to your computer via USB, and the device will automatically provide a mix-minus, eliminating the chances of the person on the other end of the call hearing a distracting echo. This allows you to produce clear-sounding podcasts without having to purchase additional hardware, or setup complex signal routings with cables.
Rode Broadcast-Quality Audio/APHEX Processing for Rich/Warm Voice:
The four microphone preamps feature servo-biased Class-A circuitry, providing a clean gain structure with low levels of distortion. This produces a low-noise signal that rivals some of the best broadcast controllers. Each preamp produces +48V phantom power on the Neutrik XLR connectors, which gives you the option to use condenser microphones for a bright sounding voice. The APHEX Exciter and Big Bottom processors can enhance the sound of your microphones with ease. Just like in most broadcast studios, the Exciter increases speech clarity, while the Big Bottom adds a warm and deep low-frequency kick to your voice. These effects are designed to bring out the details of the music or speech audio from your Bluetooth, TRRS, or USB connections.
Create Your Sound With Audio Processing:
The RODECaster Pro is designed with advanced audio processing options for each of the channels. Search in the list of microphone profiles for the one that is most similar to the actual microphone you are using for your voice, and the software will match the digital signal processing to that microphone. Voice settings are also built-in to make up for the tone and strength of the participant's voices. You are able to choose from either a Deep, Medium, or High voice preset. The "Soft" preset for soft-spoken speakers, and the "Strong" preset is designed for those with louder voices. These levels can also be programmed to change the loudness of the voice of the person speaking, which makes it easier for users without any audio experience to set the gain on their microphone to the perfect level. A set of multistage dynamics effects are also included, such as compression, limiting, noise-gating, and de-essing. The Main Host channel (Microphone Channel 1) features Ducking, which turns down all of the audio sources every single time the host speaks. This allows for the host of the podcast to always be heard, even when others are speaking over each other. The host has exclusive access to advanced functions, allowing them to control the flow of the podcast while recording. Some of these features include muting, and soloing channels by using buttons located on the front of the unit.
Capture Your Podcast Using An Internal MicroSD Card:
The RODECaster Pro has an internal microSD card recorder, which allows you to record a stereo “live mix” of your podcast along with 12 additional tracks for each of the sources. The sources consist of one mono track per microphone, and a stereo track for each USB source, the 3.5mm TRRS input, the Bluetooth stream, and the output of the sound pads.
Record, Stream, and Playback on Your Computer:
The RODECaster Pro is a USB audio interface, which means you can connect the unit to your computer via USB. This allows you to record 12 tracks of individual sources, along with a stereo mix of your podcast to your favorite recording software or DAW. You can also bring in audio from your computer to the USB channel of your choice on the RODECaster Pro.
Headphone Monitoring for Hosts and Guests:
The unit comes equipped with four, high-powered headphone outputs using circuitry for extreme clarity. Each person is provided with an individual volume control so that they can monitor while recording the podcast. The host channel has an option to plug a set of headphones (3.5mm) directly into the front of the RODECaster Pro. The switchable headphone limiter protects you from deafening spikes of volume.
Plug Into a Live PA System:
While hosting your podcast at live events with an audience, you are able to use the RODECaster Pro's speaker outputs, which have dedicated volume control. This allows you to connect the unit to a PA system. You can amplify the podcast for your live audience, while streaming to your audiences around the world via USB connectivity.
