Overview

The Panasonic LUMIX G85 Mirrorless Micro 4/3 Digital Camera with 12-60 mm Lens is a tough, lightweight camera that every photographer should have. It features a 16-MP Live MOS sensor that shoots pictures and videos with stunning attention to detail. The 5-axis image stabilization system works in conjunction with the LUMIX 2-axis IS to prevent camera shakes by a maximum of 5 stops for capturing blur-free shots. The Contrast AF system, with DFD technology, automatically focuses on your subjects with a great deal of precision. Moreover, the camera’s weather-sealed body makes it dust- and splash-proof, so that you can use it in just about any weather.

Optics and Focus

The Panasonic LUMIX G85 is equipped with a 12-60-mm lens that offers a brilliant aperture. The Contrast AF system comes with DFD technology, which lets you focus on your subjects automatically with outstanding precision. The ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 25,600, while the shutter operates at a speed of up to 1/16,000th of a second. The 5-axis image stabilization system, which combines with the LUMIX 2-axis IS, reduces camera shakes by up to 5 stops, thus generating blur-free videos and photos. The Exposure and White Balance modes are helpful for a variety of photography tasks. The Post Focus mode comes in handy for adjusting the focus on your subjects, even after capturing them.

Sensor and Screen

This Panasonic camera features a 16-MP Live MOS sensor for shooting videos and photos with fine details. The 3-inch, free-angle TFT LCD touchscreen, with a 1040 k-dot resolution and Static Touch Control technology, provides an interface that is intuitive for viewing captured content and browsing menus with clarity. The OLED Live viewfinder comes with a 2360 k-dot resolution for viewing subjects with ease, irrespective of the lighting condition. Both the viewfinder and screen come with a viewing field of 100%.

Image and Video

The LUMIX G85 not only captures RAW, JPEG, and MPO photos at its maximum resolution of 4592 x 2584 pixels, but also records 4K videos at a 3840 x 2160-pixel resolution in the MP4 format. The built-in Venus Engine helps in detecting high-frequency components for minimizing moiré generation. You can shoot pictures in a continuous manner at a maximum burst rate of 40 fps. Additional features include the 4K photo mode and the panorama shooting mode.

Other Features

The camera's weather-sealed body makes it splash- and dust-proof. The WiFi function helps you share captured content with other WiFi-enabled devices. The microHDMI TypeD port is useful for establishing a connection between the camera and a television in order to view photos and videos on the TV screen directly. This camera runs on a 1200 mAh Lithium-Ion battery, which lasts for a decent duration on a single charge.
