The Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS200 is a compact digital camera that produces UHD 4K videos. A Leica DC Vario-Elmar 15× lens is integrated into the camera design. The 20.1 MP high-sensitivity MOS sensor works in concert with the Venus engine image processor to produce high-quality images and provides a stunning 4K continuous shooting rate of 30 fps. The 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD offers 1240K-dot resolution view of the scene as well as intuitive navigation through various camera menus. You can also use Live View Finder for image composition. The built-in flash can take well-illuminated images at a range of 0.6–6.8 m for wide lens setting and 1–3.9 m for telephoto settings. Transfer images to smartphones with the built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This camera provides up to 370 and 350 shots per charge with the rear LCD and electronic viewfinder respectively.
Optics and Focus
The Lumix DC-ZS200 comes with an integrated Leica DC Vario-Elmar 15× lens that has a focal length of 8.8–132mm. It provides a 35mm-equivalent range of 24–360mm. This built-in zoom lens includes 13 elements in 11 groups that have 5 aspherical and 3 ED elements to ensure edge-to-edge clarity and color consistency. The 49-area contrast-detection focusing system and the intelligent Depth from Defocus technology ensure accuracy in the autofocus operation whether taking pictures or recording videos. A special function called post focus is provided in the camera, which shifts a particular focus point throughout the zoom range, thus providing a variety of focus ranges to choose from. You can increase the mechanical shutter speed up to 1/2000th and electronic shutter up to 1/16000th of a second.
Sensor and Screen
The 20.1MP high-sensitivity MOS sensor offers accurate color rendition. With the 3.0-inch 1240K-dot LCD, you can compose the shot and review recorded videos and photos. Also, the touchscreen functionality allows you to navigate through various camera menus easily. The Live View Finder has a 2330K-dot resolution. Both LCD and viewfinder cover 100% of the frame area.
Image and Video
This Panasonic camera captures 20 MP pictures with a maximum resolution of 5472×3648 dpi. You can choose the traditional JPEG format, or capture images in the RAW format to process them in-camera. The camera offers 4K videos recording at 30 fps and Full HD video recording at 60 fps. It also brings the 4K imaging capabilities in the continuous shooting mode where three burst shooting modes take sequential shots at 30 fps. The Venus engine image processor speeds up the camera performance to contribute to the 4K video recording and continuous shooting mode. With 5-axis hybrid optical image stabilizer, the effects of camera shakes are reduced. You can choose from 22 shooting modes to give a unique look to the images.
Other Features
The built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity permits image transfer to smartphones and tablets. When you enable the 4K Photo Auto Marking, it senses the motion on the subject's face to set a marker that allows you to skip directly to that particular moment. The pop-up flash comes to your aid when working in low light. During video recording, the integrated microphone simultaneously captures audio on stereo channels. You can insert memory cards from SD to SDXC in this camera. The camera runs on a DMW-BLG10 Li-ion battery.
