Overview

The Nikon D7500 DX-format DSLR with 18–140mm VR Lens captures the essence of a scene with amazing detail. It uses a 20.9 MP CMOS image sensor that provides crystal clear and flawless image quality. You can any of the 51 focus points to bring into focus a particular object, while blurring out the background. This camera supports 4K UHD video recording at a maximum frame rate of 30 fps. You can also make adjustments in the camera settings through the tiltable touch-sensitive LCD screen that measures 3.2 inches.

Optics and Focus

This Nikon D7500 comes with an AF-S DX NIKKOR 18–140 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens. The VR image-stabilization system in this lens reduces blurs when you shoot handheld. The lens construction involves 17 elements in 12 groups, including an extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass and aspherical lens elements that keep chromatic aberrations to a minimum. Moreover, the diaphragm of the lens comprises seven blades, which help bring rounded bokeh effects on images. The 9 exposure and 10 white-balance modes let you set the appropriate brightness for a scene. This camera has a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second, which is ideal for capturing shots of moving objects with clarity.

Sensor and Screen

The D7500 from Nikon renders clear and noise-free images, thanks to its 20.9 MP CMOS image sensor. The ISO range stands at 100–51,200, which allows you to experiment with your shots with respect to color and contrast. You can use the camera’s TFT touch-sensitive LCD, which can be tilted, to make changes in its settings and browse through images and videos on an amazing resolution of 922,000 dots. When taking landscape shots, make use of the Virtual Horizon Camera Indicator, which works with the accelerometer to figure out whether the camera is tilted in any angle or not. The eye-level pentaprism viewfinder of this Nikon camera has a magnification of 0.94× and 100% frame coverage.

Image and Video

This Nikon camera captures stills at a maximum resolution of 5568×3712 pixels, and saves them in JPEG as well as NEF (RAW) formats. You can also film videos in 3840×2160 pixels at 30 fps and full HD videos at 60 fps with this camera. The video file format that this camera supports are MOV and MP4. Burst shooting of 50 RAW images is also possible with the D7500, at an 8 fps rate.

Other Features

The Nikon camera lets you share images and videos with your friends over the SnapBridge app, thanks to the inbuilt WiFi and Bluetooth functions. Also, with this app, you can create a backup of the captured media and remotely control the camera through a smartphone or tablet. The Monocoque design and weather sealing of the camera shield it against moisture and dust. On a single charge of its EN-EL15a Li-ion battery, this camera can capture 950 shots.

Elements / Groups: 17 / 12
Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
