Overview

The Fujifilm X-T20 Mirrorless Digital Camera is built for both video shooting and photography applications. It is teamed up with an XC 16–50mm lens and Share SP-3 SQ printer. The camera takes advantage of the 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor to provide high-resolution imagery in variable lighting conditions. It also benefitted by the X-Processor Pro when working in low light conditions. The camera records videos in UHD 4K at 30 fps and takes burst shoots up to 42 JPEG frames at 14 fps. Tilt the rear 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD to employ high or low angle shooting techniques. The 2.36m-OLED viewfinder makes it easy to frame the scene from the eye level. With the Wi-Fi connectivity, you can send photos to smartphones or operate the camera wirelessly. An NP-W126S Li-ion battery pack powers the Fujifilm X-T20.

Optics and Focus

The Fujifilm X-T20 camera is supplied with an XC 16–50mm lens. Other X-series lenses can also be fitted to the camera. The provided XC 16–50mm lens has 12 optical elements in 10 groups. Three aspherical elements and a single Extra-low Dispersion glass minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations. The optical image stabilization provides a 3.5-stop reduction in camera shakes. All seven blades of the diaphragm are rounded to produce smooth bokeh quality. The camera features the 91-point autofocus system that covers 75% of the vertical and 50% horizontal space of the imaging area with hybrid AF points to maintain precision during subject tracking. The AF-C custom function can be set to one of the five presets that are preloaded in the camera.

Sensor and Screen

The 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor powers the imaging capabilities of the Fujifilm X-T20. As the low-pass filter is discarded, the amount of image sharpness is increased. Also, the X-Trans design creates an organic look of film rolls with nuanced colors and smooth tonal transitions. The 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD offers 1.04m-dot resolution live view of the scene. Moreover, the tilting design facilitates working from high and low angles. The 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder makes it easy to compose the scene from eye level.

Image and Video

The camera captures still images with a maximum resolution of 6000×4000 pixels. You are given the choice of JPEG and RAW format. Of these, the prior format is ideal for quick image sharing, while the latter allows you to fine-tune the image look in post. The movie mode captures UHD 4K videos at 30 fps and Full HD at 60 fps. With the camera, you can also shoot consecutive images for up to 42 JPEG frames at 14 fps. The X-Processor Pro enhances the low-light performance as well as boosts the performance of the camera throughout its system. With the built-in film simulation modes, the camera presents various ways to alter the look of your photos and videos. The camera also allows you to capture 180° panorama, multi-exposures, and time-lapse footages.

Other Features

The built-in Wi-Fi can be used for transferring photos to smartphones or remotely operating the camera via the Fujifilm Remote Camera app. Enable the built-in flash, which has a guide number of 16.4 feet at ISO 100, for capturing photos in low light. You may also mount an external strobe to the hot shoe contact. The physical exposure compensation dial makes it easy tweak the brightness of the image in ±5 EV range. A Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 SQ printer is also included in the kit. It prints digital photos on Instax SQUARE instant films in 13 seconds. Use various templates and filters in the printer to make changes in the final look of the image before printing.
