Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The Fujifilm X-A5 Mirrorless Camera offers improved performance than its predecessor thanks to the all-new 24.2 MP APS-C sensor and updated image processing engine. This camera has an XC 15–45mm F3.5–5.6 OIS PZ lens provided with it. You can also use this camera with other Fujifilm X-mount lenses. The image processor is 1.5 times faster than its previous versions. With this mirrorless camera, you can record 4K UHD and full HD videos at a frame rate of 60 fps. Capture continuous shots in 4K at 15 fps for up to 5 minutes. You can tilt the rear touchscreen LCD at 180°. The Bluetooth function allows you to transfer images to smartphones or print photos from the Fujifilm Instax SP-3. There are up to 11 film simulations in the camera that provide the look of Fujifilm's old films such as Velvia and Classic Chrome.

Optics and Focus

The provided XC 15–45mm F3.5–5.6 OIS PZ lens comes with 10 optical elements arranged in 9 groups, from which three are aspherical, and two are Extra-low Dispersion elements that reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations. This zoom lens has an inner stepping motor that remains silent while taking sharp photos of objects as close as 5 cm. The electric-powered zoom offers a smooth shift in focal length. Thanks to the optical image stabilization, the effects of camera shakes are reduced. The mechanical shutter and electronic shutter have a maximum speed limit of 1/4000th and 1/32000th of a second respectively. This Fujifilm camera uses the intelligent hybrid autofocus system that employs phase-detection to fix the focus on a moving subject. Additionally, the Multi-Focus mode enables focus stacking with 4K images and fine-tunes the depth-of-field.

Sensor and Screen

The 24.2 MP APS-C sensor is specially developed for this camera, which enhances scene recognition, reproduces vibrant colors, and softens skin tones. A 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD is incorporated in the camera design, which provides 1040K-dot resolution view of the shot. You can tilt the LCD 180° which in turn activates the Eye AF function and changes the rear command dial to a zoom and shutter release switch.

Image and Video

This Fujifilm camera offers 24.2 MP photo capture in JPEG and RAW format with a maximum resolution of 6000×4000 dpi. The camera provides 4K and Full HD video recording at 60 fps. Also, the Fujifilm E-A5 takes continuous shots in 4K for up to 5 minutes at 15 fps. You can apply one of the 11 film simulation filters to the photos to make them mimic the look provided by Fujifilm's classic film types such as Velvia and Classic Chrome. The Portrait Enhancer mode makes the skin tone soft. Use the Super Intelligent Flash function to make the camera adjust the strobe power as per the light in the scene.

Other Features

With the built-in Bluetooth, you can send images to your smartphone as well as to a Fujifilm Instax SP-3 photo printer. The integrated flash has a guide number of 4 m at ISO 100 and 5.7 m at ISO 200. You can attach an external flash to the hot shoe. Enable the Quiet Venue Mode to disable the sound of the shutter and controls. You can set the self-timer from 2 to 10 seconds for delaying the shutter release. An NP-W126S battery pack and AC power adapter is provided with the camera.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
