Overview

Capture the scenic beauty on-the-go with the Canon PowerShot SX620 HS Digital Camera. Made for point-and-shoot photography, the camera delivers 20.2 MP image resolution with its 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor. The DIGIC 4+ image processor supports the continuous shooting at 7.1 fps and Full HD video recording at 30 fps. The built-in lens offers a 25× optical zoom for taking photos of distant objects, while the intelligent image stabilization ensures clear photos and videos during handheld shooting. With the Smart Auto mode, the camera optimizes the image settings as per the lighting conditions. You can share pictures with smartphones and control the camera remotely by linking your device with the SX620 HS's built-in Wi-Fi.

Optics and Focus

The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS offers a 25× optical zoom with its built-in lens. You also obtain 4× digital zoom to get closer to distant objects. With the auto zoom feature, the camera allows you to frame the subjects accurately and maintain focus on them by zooming in or out. The camera handles the exposure adjustment for you with the Smart Auto mode. There are dedicated image stabilization modes for still photography and video recording. The normal IS is ideal for handheld shooting, and Panning IS recognizes pan movement to reduce shaky lateral movement. When you are taking close-up shots, the camera chooses the Macro IS to compensate for the unwanted movement. In the video mode, Macro IS and Tripod IS return from the still mode. The video specific Dynamic IS and Powered IS ensure stability when recording videos on wide-angle and telephoto settings respectively.

Sensor and Screen

This Canon point-and-shoot camera is equipped with a 20.2 MP CMOS sensor that offers crisp images and videos having vibrant colors. You can compose the shot with the 3.0-inch LCD that provides 922K-dot resolution live view. The LCD also ensures easy navigation through different settings and recorded media. With the 100% screen coverage, you can easily frame the scene without worrying about cropping in the final image.

Image and Video

The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS takes photos with a maximum resolution of 5184×3888 pixels in JPEG format. As for the movie mode, the camera offers Full HD 1080p videos at a frame rate of 30 fps. The DIGIC 4+ image processor boosts the overall performance of the system to enable continuous shooting at 7.1 fps. There are various shooting modes such as miniature effect and poster effect in the camera, which offer a unique look to your imagery. The Hybrid Auto mode records a short video before taking a still image and creates an HD 720p highlight reel by compiling multiple short clips.

Other Features

The camera connects to your smartphone via its integrated Wi-Fi for allowing image transfer to your device. You may also remotely operate the camera though the Canon Camera Connect app. The built-in flash offers an effective range of 1.64–13.12 feet on wide focal lengths and 3.28–6.56 on telephoto settings. You can use the self-timer to delay the shutter release by 2 or 10 seconds. The face and wink self-timer options are also available for further simplicity of the overall operation. This Canon digital camera accepts SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. Insert the included NB-13L Li-ion battery into the camera to power its functions.
