Overview

Take your passion for photography to a whole new level with the Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II Digital Camera. This still camera embodies the attributes of digital SLRs in a compact, budget-friendly body finished in a gorgeous black color. It is equipped with a 12.8 MP CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 6 image processor. It also employs a 3.0 inch capacitive touch screen with tilt facilities for easy image capture. With image stabilization and high ISO range, this camera from Canon goes the extra mile to make every memory special

Optics and Focus

The PowerShot G1 X Mark II capture crystal-clear images with its 5x optical zoom. It also has 4x digital zoom and a combined zoom of 20x. It offers superior functionality to ensure the images captured from far off distance do not suffer in quality and retain their original beauty. The overall focal length of the lens is 12.5mm to 62.5mm, and it also sports a 9-blade aperture to add a special flair to the blurred areas.

Sensor and Screen

The 1.5 inch 12.8 MP CMOS sensor offers high-sensitivity and captures more light in every shot to produce distortion-free, detailed photographs. The aspect ratio of the images captured is 3:2 and multiple aspect ratios can be selected to suit your preference. The camera also employs a DIGIC 6 image processor that offers higher resolution even in the absence of optimal light. The amalgamation of the CMOS sensor and the DIGIC processor creates the HS system that captures captivating images with a natural feel and rich colors. You can view the images and videos on a 3.0 inch capacitive touchscreen. This screen can be tilted to 180 and 45 degree angle for effortlessly capturing images from different viewing angles with minimum glare. The camera offers efficient playback options with easy control, auto rotate and transition effects.

Image and Video

Using an Optical Image Stabilizer and an Intelligent IS system, the G1 X Mark II captures images as they are even if the subject is constantly in motion. The exposure and focus can be easily controlled using the amazing Dual Control Rings on the lens barrel. The camera also lets you select the appropriate focus level from 31 autofocus points. An optional electronic viewfinder and a custom grip can be attached to offer easy grip for professional shoots. This camera can also be equipped with a Canon Speedlite flash for optimum coverage for images and videos in dim lights. 58 different scenes are scanned to effectively select the best settings for you. The HDR mode can be used to compensate for high contrast in images as it shoots three different images in succession and combines them to form the perfect one. To capture a night under the stars, you can use the Star Shooting mode and witness the outdoors in its natural splendor. These images are stored in 14 bit RAW and JPEG formats and can be shared online using the Wi-Fi connectivity. Moreover, you can capture HD videos having a resolution of 1080p with this still camera from Canon. The videos are compressed and stored in an MP4 format to save storage space and efficient playback on mobile devices.

Other Features

This PowerShot camera is Wi-Fi and NFC enabled for easy data sharing over the Internet and mobile computing devices. You can share your photos on social networking sites and even tag your location. Using the Canon CameraWindow app, you can remotely control the functions of the camera and even click pictures wirelessly. This app works on iOS and Android based devices. The data can be stored on SD, SDHC, SDXC or UHS-I memory Cards. By activating the Eco mode, as many as 300 shots can be captured on a single battery charge.

ISO Speed:
The ISO speed setting dictates sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO speed, the more sensitive the film or digital sensor is to light. Higher ISOs have the effect of noise in an image. The actual ISO at which the noise occurs varies from camera to camera. Low ISOs are generally used for brighter lighting conditions and high ISOs are often used for low light or action shots.
