The tripod legs have 4 sections with twist locks keeping them in place. With the independent leg spread, you can adjust the tripod on any surface. You can use the side-pull selector button to set the any of three the legs at one of the three angles. The tripod has a maximum height of 59.1 inches with the center column extended. As the tripod has rubberized feet, it can firmly stand on most surfaces. The 494 ball head offers 360° pan and lateral tilt angle of -90° to 40°. Use the friction knob to adjust the pan and tilt angle. You can mount a 1/4"-20 female threaded camera on the top screw. The ball head allows you attach other QR plates that offer compatibility to the Manfrotto RC2 quick release system. The tripod and ball head are lightweight and durable as both are constructed from aluminum alloy.
