Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The Fujifilm FinePix XP130 Digital Camera is packed with useful features that make your family trip memorable. The camera has Fujinon 5× optical zoom lens integrated into its design. The 16.4 MP BSI CMOS sensor ensures the imagery is vibrant whether underwater or above. Switch to the continuous shooting mode to capture burst images at 10 fps. The 3-inch rear LCD provides 920K-dot resolution live view. With the Cinemagraph mode, you can keep a specific portion of the image in motion. Record time-lapse sequences with the interval shooting mood. With the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, stored images on the camera can be sent to smartphones or wireless photo printers. You can use the camera in adverse conditions thanks to its shock-, water-, dust-, and freezeproof body.

Optics and Focus

A 35mm equivalent focal range of 28–140mm is provided by the Fujinon 5× optical zoom lens. It comes with 13 elements arranged in 11 groups. The inclusion of four aspherical lenses in the lens design ensures edge-to-edge clarity. The variable aperture range of f/3.9 to F/8 is ideal for point-and-shoot photography. You can digitally zoom-in the image by 10×. Extend the ISO range of the camera up to 6400 for working in low-light conditions. The shutter speed has a maximum limit of 1/2000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

The 16.4 MP BSI CMOS sensor recognizes the colors accurately to produce vibrant imagery. It has a back-illuminated design that ensures smooth the image quality and minimizes noise in low light. The 3.0-inch LCD provides a 920K-dot resolution live view of the scene. Also, recorded videos and images can be reviewed on the LCD. An anti-reflective coating is applied to the LCD to make it easier to view in bright light.

Image and Video

This Fujifilm camera offers still image capture with a maximum resolution of 4608×3456 dpi in JPEG format. You can record videos in Full HD at a smooth frame rate of 60 fps in H.264 or MOV formats. With the continuous shooting mode, the camera takes 16.4 MP burst images up to 10 frames per second. Moreover, the ultra-high-speed continuous shots can be captured at 60 fps for up to 70 frames of 2.1 MP images. The sensor-shift image stabilization reduces the effects of camera shakes to make your handheld shots smooth. Align the horizon properly with the shot by using the electronic level. Two underwater shooting modes are included in the camera for retaining the color balance and detail in the scene.

Other Features

The built-in flash has 7 sync modes, from which you can choose any one according to your requirement. With the built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, you can transfer captured images to smartphones or PCs. The wind filter ensures your videos have a clear sound when shooting in breezy conditions. This digital camera comes with auto time adjustment and geotagging function for imprinting the location name where the photo is taken. The noise cancellation keeps the sound created by the zoom mechanism out of the audio recording. With the movie edit feature, you can trim your video to keep only important moments. This Fujifilm camera provides up to 240 shots on a 740 mAh NP-45S Li-ion battery per charge.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
