Overview

The Olympus E-M5 Mark II Weather-sealed Kit shows its ability to withstand harsh weather and environmental elements while providing high-quality image and video results. This new Olympus camera comes with an M.ZUIKO ED 14–150mm F4.0–5.6 II lens and FL-LM3 electronic flash that matches the weather-proof construction of the camera. The 16.1 MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor provide high-resolution imagery and improved sensitivity in low light. For video recording, the camera offers 1080p screen resolution at 60 fps. The continuous shooting mode captures 10 frames per seconds. With the 3.0-inch vari-angle LCD, you can compose the scene from different angles. The focus stacking function combines photos taken at various focus points and creates a composite image with a greater depth of field.

Optics and Focus

The M.ZUIKO ED 14–150mm F4.0–5.6 II is included in the kit, which has 15 optical elements in 11 groups. Special DSA, aspherical ED, ED, and HR elements reduce different aberrations and distortions to maintain image quality. A zero coating layer is applied to the elements to minimize ghosting and flare. The Movie & Still Compatible AF system ensures fast, accurate, and silent autofocusing performance. You can use the lens in challenging weather conditions thanks to its dustproof, splash proof, and freeze proof construction. The camera features the F.A.S.T. AF system that includes 81 selectable contrast detection AF points and 37 phase detection AF points. Make use of the Face Detection AF and Eye Detection AF when taking group photos. The peaking function lets you adjust the manual focus parameters with precision. With the focus bracketing function, the camera takes photos at different focus points and combines them into a single image having a greater depth of field. The 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization reduces camera shakes by 5 EV stops when shooting handheld. You may also choose one of the four stabilization modes. The camera lets you set the focal length and lens IS priority for the image stabilization.

Sensor and Screen

The Olympus E-M5 Mark II comes with a 16 MP Live MOS sensor that offers detailed image quality with vibrant colors. Its supersonic wave filter maintains the sensor surface clean throughout the camera's lifespan. The 3.0 vari-angle touchscreen LCD allows you to take high and low angle shots. You may also select and enlarge the focus area and access various menus with ease using the touchscreen functionality of the screen. The LCD also shows the histogram and level gauge. Alternatively, the 2.36m-dot resolution LCD electronic viewfinder can be used for framing the shot from eye level. Both the LCD and electronic viewfinder let you control their brightness and color temperature.

Image and Video

The camera takes high-resolution stills at 4608×3456 pixels in JPEG and RAW formats. You can record Full HD 1080p videos at 60 fps and take burst images at 10 fps. A vast collection of art filters, picture modes, and adjustment parameters is included in the camera for modifying the image look. With the photo story function, you can shoot a scene from different angles and combine them into a single image. The interval timer allows you to capture time-lapse sequences for up to 999 frames at intervals from 1 second to 24 hours.

Other Features

The built-in Wi-Fi enables you to send images to smartphones and wirelessly trigger the camera. Mount the included FL-LM3 flash on the camera's hot shoe for clicking photos at night or in dim areas. This waterproof flash has a guide number of 9 at ISO100. Its head has a tilt angle of up to 90° and pan angle of 180°. Moreover, the Olympus Wireless RC Flash system compatibility provides communication in 4 channels and 4 groups. You can display the recorded media on an HDTV using the HDMI Type D port. On a fully-charged BLN-1 Li-ion battery, the camera takes up to 750 still shots approximately.

That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
