Overview

Ignite your creative talent with the Nikon FX-format DSLR camera. This full-frame camera offers you spectacular imaging and videography capabilities. Its compact body makes the camera extremely agile and versatile. This camera lets you capture incredible images with its newly designed 24.3 MP FX-format CMOS sensor. The EXPEED 4 image processor delivers faster frame rates. It also helps in producing less noise in the picture and widens the ISO range of the camera. The 3.2 inch TFT LCD screen provides you with an angle of view of around 170°. It provides 100% frame coverage enabling you to compose your shots perfectly.

Optics and Focus

The camera is compatible with both FX and DX format lenses. This allows you to select the best Nikkor lenses with the camera. It features a fast and accurate focusing technique with a 51-point AF system. The newly developed Advanced Multi-CAM 3500 II autofocus module strengthens focus detection capability even in low lighting conditions. The 15 cross-type sensors give you better phase detection both vertically and horizontally.

Sensor and Display

This Nikon camera has a resolution of 24.3 MP with its FX-format CMOS sensor. This high performing sensor helps you achieve a level of image quality that is unmatched by the camera’s contemporaries. It gathers more light, enabling you to produce better detail and sharpness. The EXPEED 4 image processor offers faster processing speeds. It minimizes noise in the picture and produces a rich tonal range. This camera has a 3.2-inch TFT LCD screen with variable-angle feature. The screen provides you greater flexibility while composing high angle and low angle shots. It has a resolution of around 1,288,800 dots, producing brilliant display quality.

Images and Videos

The camera offers you a highlight-weighted metering mode, which helps you avoid overblown highlights by automatically detecting brighter areas of the scene and selecting a suitable exposure according to the lighting condition. Nikon’s original picture control system lets you freely control the look of the movie or image you click. It gives you pictures with post production quality directly from the camera. An active D-Lighting system produces the appropriate contrast and natural brightness that makes the picture look more natural to the human eye. The camera can record professional quality videos in Full HD 1080p at a frame rate of up to 60 fps. This helps in delivering elegant and magnificent video quality.

Other Features

The HDR function of the camera composes a subject with two different exposure levels and merges it to create an amazing effect. The feature is extremely useful to capture breathtaking landscapes and still-life pictures. The in-built WiFi enables you to share images and videos instantly and wirelessly. It also allows you to shutter the camera remotely using your smartphone via WiFi. This camera employs a monocoque body that gives it additional strength and reduces the overall weight and size of the camera.

ISO Speed: ISO 100 -12,800 Lo-1 (ISO 50) Hi-1 (ISO 25,600) Hi-2 (ISO 51,200)
ISO Speed:
The ISO speed setting dictates sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO speed, the more sensitive the film or digital sensor is to light. Higher ISOs have the effect of noise in an image. The actual ISO at which the noise occurs varies from camera to camera. Low ISOs are generally used for brighter lighting conditions and high ISOs are often used for low light or action shots.
