Overview

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 is a lightweight and compact DSLR camera that beginner photographers can use to hone their skills. It can be used with Canon lenses having the EF mount. The camera is equipped with a 24.2 MP APS-C-size CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 7 image processor to provide high-quality results in both bright and dim-light conditions. This camera has a 3.0-inch Vari-angle touchscreen LCD that can be adjusted as may be needed for the shooting angle. Additionally, an optical viewfinder with 0.87× magnification is provided as an alternative to the screen for analyzing scenes. The additional items in the kit include an LP-E17 battery pack with cover, LP-E17 charger, Ef eyecup, and EW-400D camera strap.

Optics and Focus

This Canon camera features a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system with phase detection that allows you to keep focus on any moving subject. It offers an amazing focusing speed of 0.03 seconds. Also, there are nine autofocus points that the camera offers to get you the desired area of the scene into focus.

Sensor and Screen

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 DSLR comes with a 24.2 MP CMOS sensor that offers a clear and detailed picture quality with beautiful and vibrant colors. A DIGIC 7 image processor is also included for noise reduction when shooting in low-light conditions. The ISO range of up to 25600 helps when shooting in varied lighting. Thanks to the 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD, you can analyze scenes from almost any angle comfortably. The screen resolution stands at 1.04 million dots. This camera also has a 0.87× optical viewfinder with diopter adjustment from -3.0 to +1.0 m-1.

Image and Video

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 can capture pictures at its highest resolution of 6000×4000 dpi in both RAW and JPEG formats. In the movie mode, the camera can record 1080p videos at a frame rate of almost 60 fps. You may also capture burst images at a rate of 5 fps. There is a time-lapse mode included for capturing a series of pictures of a scene over a period of time to create cinematic time-transitions videos.

Other Features

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 DSLR has built-in WiFi that allows you to share images and videos with other devices or upload them directly on the Internet, using the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. With the NFC feature, the camera automatically connects to nearby compatible smartphone devices. A low-energy-consuming Bluetooth 4.1 technology is included to let you trigger the camera with an optional BR-E1 remote controller as well as use the camera’s GPS with your smartphone. The camera has a self-cleaning sensor unit that clears dust particles from the sensor when the power is turned on or off. This camera includes other features such as a feature assistant, depth of field preview button, and a 3.5mm external microphone jack.
