Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The DJI Mavic Air features a 3-axis gimbal equipped camera, having 4K imaging capabilities. Its camera is powered by a 1.2/3- inch CMOS sensor that makes colors vibrant in the shot. The camera can record videos in 4K quality videos at a frame rate of 30p. Also, the onboard camera can capture vertical, horizontal and 180° panoramas as well as join 25 photos together to make a 32 MP spherical panorama. The improved HDR algorithms offer proper exposure in the scene as per the lighting conditions. An 8 GB internal storage is provided in the DJI Mavic Air. The quadcopter is built around an aerodynamic chassis and has magnesium alloy brackets to reinforce the seven onboard cameras. For navigation, the quadcopter uses the FlightAutonomy 2.0 that makes the primary gimbal camera, directional dual-vision sensors, downward infrared sensing system, IMU redundancies, and a group of computing cores work together. With the 2375 mAh Li-Po battery, the DJI Mavic Air offers a total flight time of 21 minutes.

Optics and Focus

The drone is fitted with a 12 MP camera that has a 35mm equivalent focal length and a fixed aperture of f/2.8. It can focus on the subject from the closest distance of 50 cm. The camera's ActiveTrack feature senses up to 16 selectable subjects simultaneously. While both photo and video mode have an ISO range automatically set from 100–1600, the prior's ISO range can be extended to 3200 manually. The electronic shutter of the camera has a maximum speed of 1/8000th of a second to give a choppy movement to the subjects in motion.

Sensor and Screen

Mavic Air's integrated primary camera is equipped with a 1.2/3- inch CMOS sensor that ensures quality in both photo and video capture. You can attach smartphones, which are 160mm wide and 8.48mm thick, to the provided remote control.

Image and Video

You can capture 4K quality videos at 30 fps as well as record stunning 120 fps slow-motion videos in 1080p Full HD. The Mavic Air also has the updated HDR algorithm that manages the exposure in the scene according to the lighting. With this quadcopter, you can take vertical, horizontal and 80° panoramas. Also, the Mavic Air joins 25 pictures together in eight seconds to produce a 32 MP spherical panorama. The primary camera offers photo resolution options in 4:3 for 4056×3040 dpi and 16:9 for 4056×2280 dpi. You can choose the required photo capture method from four modes namely, Auto-Exposure Bracketing (AEB), Burst Shooting, Interval, and Single Shot.

Other Features

The primary camera of the DJI Mavic Air is armed by the 3-axis gimbal that offers a reduction in angular vibration to 0.005°. It also has dampeners to minimize shakes caused by the rotors of the drone. Use the QuickShot feature to make the drone capture dramatic shots by taking one of the six flight paths. You can control the Mavic Air by hand gestures thanks to the SmartCapture function. The TapFly function works with your Smartphone having the DJI GO 4 app to make you navigate the drone by tapping on a specific point of the screen. The Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems makes the drone navigate through obstacles safely. You can fold the drone in a compact form when transporting it.
