Overview
The Aputure Light Dome is suitable for portraits, head shots, fashion, and interviews. The 34.8 inch Light Dome II from Aputure is a 16-sided modifier which offers quality of lighting options, as well as wide compatibility with Aputure lights. It is also compatible with manufacturers that use the popular Bowens mount. The design of the Light Dome II is composed of its 16 durable support rods, and its silver interior maximizes your light source's output. Its 24 inch depth creates a focused light with greater directional control that can be narrowed for selective lighting. Included is a 40 Degree fabric grid. The Light Dome features a removable inner diffuser, as well as both 1.5-stop and 2.5-stop front diffusers, which you can use individually or all at once for contrast and softness options. The gel filter holder also offers creative color options. The Light Dome II is designed to render soft, flattering light with a wraparound quality, while producing round, natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subject.

The Aputure Light Dome II has a very high quality construction and lives up to what a lot of others say about it. The light it produces is amazingly soft and controlled and is well suited for both video and stills work. For video shooters you can easily attach the gel-holder that's provided for more creative lighting scenarios. It is designed to open and close quickly utilizing the outer ribs, and you can even keep the inner baffle, outer diffuser(s) and grid attached in place -- making set up on location remarkably fast! Shipping from Unique Photo was prompt and I'm happy to now be a loyal customer.
