Thanks, to the short-telephoto focal length with a bright maximum aperture, the Canon 85mm f/1.2L II USM lens is perfect for taking portrait shots. This lens is most compatible for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 136mm equivalent focal length. This lens has one aspherical element that helps to suppress spherical aberrations and distortion. This lens has a floating optical system that includes 8 elements in 7 groups. Thanks to the Super spectra coating, the lens minimizes ghosting and flare for greater contrast and color neutrality. Also, the rounded 8-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out of focus quality.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
