Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

    Overview

The Nikon Z6 Filmmaker's Kit is a dream-come-true for independent filmmakers. It includes the new Nikon Z 6 mirrorless camera with a NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S lens. The latest Moza Air 2 gimbal is also a part of the kit along with an Atomos Ninja V recording monitor and Rode VideoMic Pro Plus. Use the FTZ mount adapter to attach Nikon F lenses as well as AF-S and AF-I teleconverters to the Nikon Z6. You also get access to the Nikon School Online Class that covers "The Art of Making Music Videos". A 1-year Vimeo Pro subscription is also provided for uploading your work on the commercial platform.

    Optics and Focus

The Nikon Z6 utilizes revolutionary Z-mount system that has a wide diameter short flange distance of 16mm to fit advanced optics while keeping the compact form factor. It also enables smooth camera-lens communication to enhance overall performance. The included NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S lens uses three aspherical elements and a special aspherical ED glass for minimizing chromatic and spherical aberrations. There is a flouring coat on the front element to resist smudges, oil, and dust. Additionally, the application of both Nano Crystal and Super Integrated coating ensures reduced flare and ghosting. The stepping AF motor offers a smooth and accurate autofocus operation. Your close-up shots will get a smooth bokeh in the background thanks to the rounded 7-blade diaphragm. The programmable control ring is usually used for focus adjustment, but you may configure it for aperture and exposure compensation. As for the camera, its phase-detection AF system has 273 autofocus areas covering 90% of the imaging space to offer speed and precision in both photo and video modes. You can switch between the phase and contrast detection methods in the video mode as per requirement. The 5-axis sensor-shift VR image stabilization reduced camera shakes by 5 stops. If you adapt a Nikon F lens with the provided FTZ mount, the camera enables the 3-axis image stabilization.

    Sensor and Screen

The Nikon Z6 boasts its imaging prowess thanks to the 24.5MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor. It ensures fast readout speeds and improved low-light performance with its back-illuminated design. The large 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD provides convenient scene composition and simplifies access to various menus. Moreover, the tilting design enables you to frame the shot from a high or low angle with ease. A dot-matrix LCD panel is also located on the top, which shows the current camera settings. The 3.6m-dot EVF has NIKKOR optics for a clear view of the scene.

    Image and Video

The Nikon Z6 is built to produce UHD 4K videos at up to 30 fps. You can also shoot videos in 1080p up to a frame rate of 120p. The photo mode can take 24 MP videos at a maximum resolution of 6000×4000 pixels in JPEG and RAW formats. You can record videos with a high dynamic range to add LUTS in the post-production process. The included Atomos Ninja V recording monitor comes in handy in such situations. Not only it provides a large display but also lets you view the log gamma footage in normal colors using its AtomHDR display technology. The Ninja V also supports recording to 2.5"" SSD drives or AtomX SSDmini drives. You can connect a microphone and headphones to the respective audio ports. The monitor recorder compresses videos with Apple ProRes and Avid DNx codecs to maintain the image quality while not acquiring too much space.

    Other Features

The camera has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities allow instant image transfer to smartphones as well as provides remote control of the unit. As for the camera body, it is made of magnesium-alloy chassis with dust and moisture-resistant sealing at critical points. The camera can take up to 310 shots approximately on a fully charged EN-EL15 or EN-EL15a Li-ion battery. Finally, the Moza Air 2 gimbal with a redesigned construction aids you when using the camera handheld. It features a payload capacity of 9.25 lb and 8 follow modes. Other functions include intelligent auto-tuning, time-lapse, OLED screen, and more. With the included 18650 Li-Po batteries, the gimbal can function for up to 16 hours.
