Unique Photo® and Adventures in Photography (AIP) would like to invite you to our new monthly meetups! On the last Thursday of each month, registrants will meet at Unique® for networking, equipment swaps, a pizza dinner, and presentations by special guest speakers. Please scroll down further to see what's in store for the next meeting!

*Last Thursday of each month is the regular meeting time. Due to holidays and other circumstances, please check this listing in case the meeting date/time is changed for any given month.

Join Unique Photo and Join Adobe Certified Instructor Blake Taylor for a 5-session online mentoring workshop and learn the necessary creative and technical Photoshop skills you'll need to improve the quality of your photos! Topics include:

· Camera RAW & Smart Objects
· Reading Histogram & Info Palette
· Color Range Selections
· White Balancing a Photo
· Rubber & Clone Stamp Tools
· Adjustment Layers & Masks
· Cropping, Resizing, & Exporting Photos

WEDNESDAYS (5:30pm - 7:00pm EST)

BE PREPARED: Students should have Photoshop CC installed in order to follow along. Students will receive PDFs with detailed lesson notes after each class.

HOW TO WATCH: Registrants will receive a Zoom invite the day of each session. As sessions are completed, they will become viewable as recorded videos under your "Unique University Online" account tab. You can rewatch any sessions at your leisure until a week after the last session.

You have a digital camera and you know that the images are going to be far superior to the ones captured by your point-and-shoot camera, but maybe you're not sure how that happens.  This class is for beginners to amateur photographers looking to gain a better understanding of the automated modes and features, as well as the manual control and capabilities, of your digital SLR or mirrorless camera.

Get instruction on the importance of understanding the fundamentals (such as depth of field, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, metering, white balance, reading histograms, on camera flashes, lenses) and how they will affect your photos!

In the second half of the class, the students will work with their cameras and apply what they have learned.  The buttons and settings will be much easier to manipulate and each student will have develop the ability to capture the images closer to their vision.

*Please note that this class is NOT for point-and-shoot cameras.

With the persistent cold weather, it's a perfect time to photograph indoors. Join Head Instructor Michael Downey on a photowalk through the exhibits of the Metropolitan Museum of Art!

Michael will start with a 30-minute photo class covering low light photography and photography in museums. From Ancient Egypt to Medieval Europe to Africa, Oceania and then on to the classical world of the Ancient Greeks and Romans, we will encounter works that reflect humankind's highest achievements. We can make it a photographic highlights tour which includes the Arms and Armor Gallery, the Temple of Dendur, the Asmat Canoe, and of course, Van Gogh. Let's see who can tell this story in the most powerful way!

*Please wear masks and practice social distancing.
•Meet in the Main Hall inside the Main Entrance at 82nd St.
*Tripods and flashes will not be allowed.
*Registration includes admission to the Met and Cloisters for 3 consecutive days.
