    Get instruction on the importance of understanding the fundamentals (such as depth of field, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, metering, white balance, reading histograms, on camera flashes, lenses) and how they will affect your photos!

    In the second half of the class, the students will work with their cameras and apply what they have learned.  The buttons and settings will be much easier to manipulate and each student will have develop the ability to capture the images closer to their vision.

    Please note that this class is NOT for point-and-shoot cameras.

    Intro to Photoshop CC 5-Week Intensive Workshop with Blake Taylor

    Join Adobe Certified Instructor Blake Taylor for this intensive 5 week, hands-on class that will introduce you to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop CC 2016! Even if this is the very first time you’ve ever worked in Photoshop, the class will start with the very basics. You'll learn how to open up Photoshop and how to bring a Raw image into Photoshop by way of Camera Raw, as well as the basics of image enhancements. Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will begin to learn more advanced techniques, from creating selections and masks in order to enhance just parts of a photo to learning about blending modes to creating adjustment layers. You will also spend lots of time experimenting on your own with your personal photos. By the end of the 5 weeks, you will have lots of information so that you can better teach yourself how to make your photos look their best! 

    Registration Includes 5 Saturday Sessions:

    A Day at the Eastern State Penitentiary

    Set in the moody and creepy atmosphere of the vacant Eastern State Penitentiary, this course includes a seminar and excursion with Michael Downey that will provide both technical and artistic insight into capturing the moods and essence of this unique location!

    SEMINAR: Monday, September 12th (6:30pm - 7:30pm)
    This session at Unique Photo is geared to familiarize you with the lighting and exposure necessary to successfully capture some great images within Eastern State Penitentiary. We will discuss bracketing and using HDR photography in camera and post-processing. Michael will also go over the equipment required, proper attire, and the best locations to capture in each cell block. 

    EXCURSION: Thursday, September 15th (7:45am - 6:00pm)
    We will meet at Unique Photo by 7:45am. The bus will leave promptly at 8:00am and we will arrive at ESP at approximately 10:00am. Those who want it will receive an audio self-guide tour set. Michael will hold HDR and flash mini sessions throughout the property, though you are free to stay with the group or roam through all of the authorized locations on your own. Either way, Michael will be available to assist you for the duration of the day!

    Bus transportation is included from and back to Unique.
    Please bring a lunch or snack and extra water.
    Limited to 40 seats, so register early!
