A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Enjoy a DSLR-like experience on a tiny point-and-shoot camera such as the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX10 Digital Camera. It has a 20-MP, 1-inch, high-sensitivity MOS sensor that enables you to shoot brighter, more colorful photos and videos every time. The lens-mounted control ring gives you the freedom to control the exposure just like you would with a DSLR camera. This camera features a 24-72-mm f/1.4-2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX optical zoom lens that takes crystal-clear photos, even when the subjects are at a considerable distance. The 3-inch 1040 k-dot touchscreen can be tilted upward at an angle of 180° for taking selfies.

Optics and Focus

This digital camera from Panasonic is equipped with a 24-72-mm f/1.4-2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX optical zoom lens. It is constructed with 11 elements in 9 groups and is capable of capturing high-quality photos of both close and distant subjects. The lens-mounted control ring lets you control the exposure, just like with a DSLR camera. The ISO sensitivity ranges between 80 and 25,600, whereas the shutter speed stands at 1/16,000th of a second. Use the 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S. for taking blur-free shots of subjects, even in high-speed motion. The Exposure and White Balance modes are helpful for a variety of photography situations.

Sensor and Screen

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX10 features a 20-MP, 1-inch, high-sensitivity MOS sensor that facilitates capturing vivid videos and pictures. The 3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen, which offers a wide viewing angle, a resolution of 1040 k dots, and 100% field of view, can be tilted at a 180° angle for clicking selfies with ease.

Image and Video

In addition to taking JPEG, RAW, and DPOF pictures at a resolution of up to 5472 x 3080 pixels at a 16:9 aspect ratio, this Panasonic camera shoots 4K videos at a 3840 x 2160-pixel resolution at 30p in the MP4 format. Enabling you to unleash your creativity are the 4K Photo, Post Focus, Panorama, and the internal Focus Stacking modes. You can also shoot images continuously at a massive burst rate of 50 fps.

Other Features

The WiFi feature in this camera lets you share the captured content with a range of compatible devices. Use the built-in flash for taking bright pictures when there is insufficient or no light. For added storage, this camera supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. You can view your captured content directly on a TV by connecting it to this camera with the help of the latter’s microHDMI typeD port. Lastly, this camera is powered by a 680 mAh Lithium-Ion battery pack, which can be charged even with a USB cable.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
