Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

OVERVIEW

Camera:
The FUJIFILM FinePix XP140 is a digital camera with a 16.4MP CMOS sensor, which allows for high-resolution stills shooting, UHD 4K (15p) video recording, and offers a broad ISO 100-12800 sensitivity range to suit working in many different situations. The sensor's back-illuminated design creates a smooth, low-noise image quality when working in difficult lighting conditions. Its Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens compliments the sensor, covering a 28-140mm equivalent focal length range, while its sensor-shift image stabilization helps decrease the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. The XP140 is designed especially for its durability, which includes its waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, and dustproof capabilities for working in the most trying conditions. With a 3.0 inch (920k-dot) LCD monitor for image review and clear viewing, all of the most important camera controls are placed on the right-hand side for comfortable one-handed control. The XP140 has Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity for automatic, fast wireless image transferring between the camera and a smartphone, as well as geotagging and time syncing capabilities.

Optics & Focus:

The Fujinon zoom lens, which is built in to the XP140, covers a wide-angle to telephoto 28-140mm equivalent focal length range, making it suitable for working in a broad variety of shooting conditions. This 5x optical zoom can doubled to 10x, with its Intelligent Digital Zoom and sensor-shift image stabilization, and balances this reach by minimizing the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.

Sensor & Screen:
The XP140
has a 16.4MP CMOS sensor, which produces high-resolution still images and UHD 4K15p videos. The sensor's back-illuminated design maintains smooth image quality and low noise throughout its ISO 100-12800 sensitivity range.  Its 3.0 inch (920k-dot) LCD monitor for image review and clear viewing, all of the most important camera controls are placed on the right-hand side for comfortable one-handed control.

Other Features:
The XP140 has Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity for automatic, fast wireless image transferring between the camera and a smartphone, as well as geotagging and time syncing capabilities.

Elements / Groups: 13 / 11
Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
