26.1 Megapixel
Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The Fujifilm X-T30, also known as the "little giant", provides various ways to express your creativity in both photo and video forms. Despite the compact size, the camera delivers performance similar to the X-T3. Bundled with the XF 50mm F2 prime lens and XF 18–55mm zoom lens, the Fuji X-30 makes full use of the 26.1 MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor to render accurate colors in low-light with minimal noise. Also, the X-Processor 4 engine, which works on four CPU units, boosts the overall camera performance during 4K video capture and 8 fps continuous shooting. The film simulation modes and grain effects let you explore different creative routes. You can transfer captured images to smartphones with built-in Bluetooth 4.2 LE or Wi-Fi connectivity. You can also remotely operate the camera with the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.

Optics and Focus

The Fujifilm X-T30 is compatible with X-series lenses. You obtain an XF 50mm F2 prime lens and XF 18–55mm zoom lens with the camera. There are special aspherical and ED elements in these lenses to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations. A Super EBC coating is given to the optical elements to ensure image saturation by reducing ghosting and lens flare. The zoom lens comes with a linear AF motor, while the prime lens uses a stepping AF motor for fast and silent autofocus operation. These autofocus lenses synchronize with the camera's 425-point phase-detection AF system to offer accuracy in low light conditions down to -3 EV. The optical image stabilizer in the zoom lens reduces the visual appearance of camera shakes. With the rounded diaphragm blades, both the lenses ensure smooth bokeh quality.

Sensor and Screen

The X-T30 can perform in low light conditions by using the back-illuminated design of its 26.1 MP APS-C X-Trans BSI CMOS 4 sensor. Also, the X-Trans array structure of the sensor produces nuanced colors and fine tonal transitions like film rolls. The optical low-pass filter is omitted to provide sharpness in the image quality. You can compose the shot easily from a high or low angle with the 2-way tilting design of the 3.0-inch, 1.04m-dot LCD. Additionally, the touchscreen functionally gives easy access to different camera menus and recorded media. Eye-level shooting is possible with the 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. Its fast refresh rate avoids the chances of blackouts at a shooting speed of up to 30 fps. The EVF's Sports Finder Mode displays a crop area of 16.6 MP that let you compensate for the movement of a subject in motion.

Image and Video

You can record 4K videos in both DCI and UHD standards. The Fujifilm X-T30 mirrorless camera also provides 1080p video recording that is ideal for online video sharing platforms. The maximum frame rate for Full HD reaches up to 60 fps for allowing you to create slow-motion effects. With the camera, you can click images with a maximum resolution of 6240×4160 pixels in JPEG and RAW formats. The X-Processor 4 is powered by four CPU units, which boosts the image processing speed and autofocus response during burst shooting. You can take continuous shots at 8 fps with the mechanical shutter. The 4K burst shooting can be done at 30 fps with the electronic shutter. The F-Log gamma captures the image detail in a high-dynamic range, giving additional control over the final video look with LUTs. The X-T30 includes film simulation modes and grain effects that can be used to give a unique look to the pictures.

Other features

Take advantage of the built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.2 LE in the X-T30 for sharing images with smartphones and remotely controlling the camera from a distance. You can work in extremely low light conditions with the pop-up flash. The camera has a hot shoe for mounting an external strobe, while the PC terminal accepts flashbulbs. The ergonomically placed front and rear command dials make it easy to familiarize with the overall control layout.
