The Rokinon 50mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF is a fast, manual-focus prime lens, with a fast maximum aperture of T1.5. Its maximum aperture makes it suitable for low-light capture & provides control over shallow depth of field. Its 8-blade iris provides a smooth & attractive bokeh. The 50mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens is optimized for both cinema & video applications, with focus & aperture control rings that feature industry standard gearing, providing an interface that is suitable for working with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has been de-clicked, which provides smooth iris pulls.  The lens' bright aperture & distance markings are printed on the lens barrel to provide easier control by a focus puller.

The 50mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens has a minimum focusing distance of 1.5 ft., & features an internal focusing function, which minimizes the effects of lens-breathing, providing a consistent angle-of-view during focus adjustment. Its design features 9 elements in 6 groups, with one aspherical element & one hybrid aspherical element for the reduction of chromatic aberrations. An additional multi-coating assists in improving light transmission, which reduces flare & ghosting. The lens filter thread diameter is 77mm.

This lens is part of Rokinon's DS series of cinema lenses, which all feature the same alignment of their geared focus & aperture rings, enabling follow focus & other rig accessories to eliminate the need for re-adjustment when swapping out lenses. Each of the DS lenses are tested to be color matched with all lenses from the DS series, ensuring the same color & contrast from lens to lens when shooting video. All lenses also are marked with focusing scales on each side of the lens barrel for simple adjustment from both sides of the camera.
