Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

Make the task of shooting professional videos in an amazing Full HD quality with the Canon XA35 Professional Camcorder. It is equipped with the latest 2.91 MP HD CMOS Pro Image sensor, which accurately records videos at a huge 2136 x 1362-pixel resolution with an improved low-light performance and signal-to-noise ratio. Reduce image blurriness during different shooting situations by using the powerful optical image stabilization system. For better flexibility, this camcorder offers a wide range of input and output options. The inbuilt Infrared Shooting Mode comes with an IR emitter and diffuser for shooting with ease even in low-light conditions.

Optics and Focus

The Canon XA35 features a high-quality 20x HD optical zoom lens that provides a highly versatile 26.8 – 576 mm zoom range in the 35 mm equivalent form. It also has a minimum object distance of as little as 23.6 inches, which enables you to record easily far away objects from your field of view. The advanced 8-blade Circular Aperture design comes in handy for avoiding the “starburst” effect of point light sources in the non-circular aperture designs.

Sensor and Screen

The Canon XA35 Professional Camcorder is equipped with the latest 2.91 MP HD CMOS Pro Image sensor, which accurately records videos at a huge 2136 x 1362-pixel resolution with an improved low-light performance and signal-to-noise ratio. The 3.5-inch OLED viewscreen comes with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and an 80° wide viewing angle for an outstanding color reproduction and correct brightness. The 0.24-inch tilt-type color electronic viewfinder has a 1.56 million dot resolution and a viewing field of 100% for critical focus adjustments.

Image and Video

The Canon XA35 camcorder can record Full HD videos at a huge resolution of 2136 x 1362 pixels in the H.264 and MPEG4-AVC video formats. Reduce unwanted image blur in a large variety of shooting situations by using the powerful optical image stabilization system. The inbuilt Infrared Shooting Mode comes with an IR emitter and diffuser for shooting with ease even in low-light conditions. You can also execute fast and slow motion recording at a speed of 1200x and 2x respectively.

Other Features

Also, the XA35 features built-in WiFi technology and FTP transfer facility. They allow you to control the camera remotely for ease of use. The ergonomic design makes this camera perfect for high-action shooting situations, where both mobility and speed are essential. For easy storage while traveling, you can conveniently detach the handle. For better flexibility, this camcorder offers a wide range of input and output options. Moreover, this camcorder also features an HD/SD-SDI output. It is useful for direct connection to an SDI switcher, a news truck, or other professional video equipment.

Detailed Specifications
Focusing System: Hybrid AF (TTL-video signal detection system and external phase difference metering system): Instant AF, Medium AF, Normal AF (TTL-video signal selection system), Face Only AF, Manual Focus
Focusing System:
The type of focusing system used to capture a sharp image. Some simple cameras have fixed (infinity) focus. Most modern cameras have autofocus systems which determine the distance to the subject automatically. There are two main types of autofocus: active autofocus, where an infrared light (or a sonar pulse) is emitted by the camera and reflected by the subject, and passive autofocus, where the image transmitted by the lens is analysed for its sharpness by a detector inside the camera.

Television System:
The encoding or formatting standards for the transmission and reception of terrestrial television signals. There are three main analog television systems in current use around the world: NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. These systems have several components, including a set of technical parameters for the broadcasting signal, an encoder system for encoding color, and possibly a system for encoding multichannel television sound (MTS).

Manual Exposure: Available
Manual Exposure:
Manual exposure is a camera mode which is non-automatic, and requires the photographer to set their own aperture and f-stop for each shot. This mode does not rely on the camera’ s internal metering system, but requires you rather to take a reading with a separate flashmeter to determine correct settings. When using external flash units, your camera should be adjusted manually.

Minimum Focusing Distance: 20mm (wide end) / 60cm (across zooming range)
Minimum Focusing Distance:
The minimum focus distance is the shortest distance at which a lens can focus. In the case of digital SLR cameras, the distance to the subject is measured from the focal plane mark on the camera body, not from the front of the lens.

Minimum Illumination: Auto Mode: Approx. 1.2 lux (shutter speed 1/30 sec. and with auto slow shutter on) Low Light Mode: Approx. 0.1 lux (shutter speed 1/2 sec.)
Minimum Illumination:
Minimum illumination indicates the minimum amount of light required to see a ‘useful’ image generated by a camera. It is measured with a light meter and the specification is expressed in lux. When comparing minimum illumination specifications, it is important to know the conditions under which measurements were made, because the specifications vary with parameters such as video levels, shutter speed, gain, and F-number.
