Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

Change the way you perform professional photography, by using the Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR with 18–55mm IS II Lens and 55–250mm IS STM Lens. The 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor in this camera works in conjunction with the DIGIC 4+ image processor for taking high-quality pictures. The 9-Point AF system utilizes a single cross-type point, which helps you focus on subjects automatically with unbelievable accuracy, even in low- and mixed-contrast lighting conditions. The inbuilt NFC and WiFi connectivity options let you operate the camera remotely and transfer the captured content to various devices with similar compatibility, including the separately available Canon Connect Station CS100 storage device.

Optics and Focus

The Canon Rebel T6 DSLR Camera comes with two EF-S lenses: an 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS II lens and a 55–250mm f/4–5.6 IS STM lens. Both have a 58mm filter thread size and support the camera’s 9-Point AF system, which uses a single cross-type point. This allows you to focus on subjects automatically and accurately, even in low- and mixed-contrast lighting conditions. Also, the optical image stabilization in both the lenses reduces camera shakes for blur-free results. The extended ISO sensitivity varies between 100 and 12,800, and the shutter operates at a maximum speed of 1/4,000th of a second. The other exposure modes and metering methods, as well as the auto white-balance mode, are helpful in numerous photography tasks.

Sensor and Screen

The Rebel T6’s 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor lets you capture high-quality photos. Its 3-inch, rear, LCD screen provides a 920 k-dot resolution for browsing menus and viewing the captured content more clearly. The 21mm, 0.8× optical pentamirror viewfinder of this camera makes it easy to view scenes, and this especially comes in handy in harsh lighting conditions that often make it difficult to use the LCD screen.

Image and Video

In addition to shooting JPEG and RAW stills at a resolution of 5184×3456 pixels, the Canon Rebel T6 records 1080p Full HD videos at 30 fps in the MOV format. You can capture up to six RAW frames and an unlimited amount of JPEG frames continuously at a 3 fps burst rate. The DIGIC 4+ image processor effortlessly renders imagery at a high speed without compromising on quality. The Scene Intelligent Auto mode is useful for getting the accurate exposure for a scene. In this mode, the camera automatically goes to the ideal setting, depending on the identified scene type. The Video Snapshot lets you record short 2-, 4-, and 8-second video clips and merge them into one highlight reel.

Other Features

This Canon camera’s inbuilt WiFi and NFC facilities allow you to operate it remotely and transfer your captured photos and videos to the separately available Canon Connect Station CS100 storage device and other gadgets with similar compatibility. The Basic Zone exposure-control settings, along with the picture-style modes, creative filters, basic+ modes, and creative-auto modes, let you get creative with your pictures. You may refer to the Feature Guide that will get you familiarized with the numerous settings and modes of the camera. This camera runs on an 860 mAh LP-E10 rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
