Overview

Designed for professional photographers and videographers, the Canon EOS 80D DSLR Camera with 18–135mm Lens Video Creator Kit is a wise choice. Some inclusions in this kit are the Røde VideoMic GO microphone, a PZ-E1 power zoom adapter, and a 32 GB SDHC card. This Canon camera comes with a 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor that combines with the DIGIC 6 image processor to capture high-resolution stills with brilliant clarity and limited noise. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF and 45-point All Cross-Type AF systems enable quick and precise focus on subjects. The built-in NFC and WiFi connectivity options let you control the camera remotely and transfer the captured content to various devices.

Optics and Focus

The EF-S 18–135mm f/3.5–5.6 IS USM lens that comes with this Canon camera is designed with an advanced NANO USM autofocus system that combines the ultrasonic motor and the video-optimized stepping motor. Additionally, the included PZ-E1 power zoom adapter combines with the 18–135mm lens for facilitating an electronic zoom control. The adapter can be attached to the lens with the help of the integrated locking mechanism. The four-stop Optical Image Stabilizer and Dynamic IS reduce camera shakes when shooting stills and videos, respectively. The optics of the lens are made of 16 elements in 12 groups, along with one aspherical element and one ultra-low-dispersion element. The shutter speed ranges between 30 seconds and 1/8,000th of a second, while the ISO sensitivity is expandable up to 25,600. The exposure and white-balance modes, along with the metering methods, assist in numerous photography scenarios.

Sensor and Screen

The 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor of the EOS 80D camera from Canon helps capture pictures with astounding clarity, sensitivity, and less noise. The 3-inch ClearView II LCD touchscreen offers a 1,040,000-dot resolution and a vari-angle design that provides a 170° viewing angle. Further, the 22mm pentaprism viewfinder, which provides a magnification of 0.95×, lets you view scenes clearly, even in bright lighting conditions. The screen and viewfinder provide a 100% coverage rating each.

Image and Video

In addition to shooting JPEG and RAW stills at a resolution of 6000×4000 pixels, the EOS 80D records Full HD 1080p videos at 60 fps in the MOV and MP4 formats. The DIGIC 6 image processor can render high-quality imagery with outstanding performance. Moreover, the Time-Lapse mode merges photos taken at fixed intervals to create a movie. The camera also has an anti-flicker function that automatically compensates for flickering light sources and helps get consistent exposure and color values during continuous shooting. With this Canon camera, you can capture up to 110 JPEG frames and 25 RAW frames continuously at a 7 fps rate.

Other Features

The Canon EOS 80D DSLR Camera’s inbuilt WiFi and NFC connectivity options make it possible to control it remotely and transfer the captured footage and photos to other devices. The included lightweight Røde VideoMic GO microphone lets you record audio while simultaneously shooting with this Canon camera. Also, as this mic runs on power drawn from the camera, it does not need separate batteries. You can expand the camera’s internal memory with the included 32 GB SDHC memory card. Powering this camera is a 1,865 mAh LP-E6N rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged with the included LC-E6 charger.

Elements / Groups: 16/12
Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
