OVERVIEW

The Canon EF 100-400 mm F/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens is a mid to super telephoto lens designed for sports and wildlife photography. The camera has a focal length of 100 mm to 400mm this allows you to capture images from a mid-telephoto range to super telephoto range. The camera gives you an aperture range of f/4.5-5.6, enabling you create a shallow depth of field around the subject. This EF lens from Canon has a lens construction of 21 elements arranged in 16 groups. The lens has a fluorite and a super UD element which improves the contrast and resolution of the images and minimizes chromatic aberration across the zoom range. The Canon Air Sphere coating helps in reducing backlit flaring and ghosting. The fluorine coating on the rear and front surface of the lens lessens smears and fingerprints.

VALUE FOR MONEY

I have been using this Canon telephoto lens for my wildlife photography and sports projects. I was looking to buy the Canon EF 100-400mm lens for a long time, and I recently ordered it online. This one is mightily impressive. If you are a wildlife photography enthusiast, definitely go ahead and buy this one. The image stabilization and quality delivery are second to none and it can easily give its competitors a run for their money. Along with the strong, sturdily-built lens, I like the push–pull zoom. I would definitely recommend this one to be a part of your photography arsenal.

very quick Push-Pull

The Push-Pull in the Canon EF 100-400mm lens is very quick. The tightening ring is also a welcome addition as it enables me to use it while walking to avoid lens creep or worse, sudden extensions of the lens that can damage the body. I have had this Canon telephoto lens for nearly 2 years. After using it for a year I thought this lens was soft on focus. I sent it back to Canon for cleaning and adjustment. They replaced the forward optic lenses instantly. Since then, this lens has been churning out spectacular results. Definitely go for this one.

I was most impressed with the Image Stabilizer feature of this Canon EF 100-400mm lens. You can be sure of high quality and sharp results. Since this Canon Telephoto lens provides utmost clarity, it is extremely easy to crop photos and still see detail. I have been a professional wildlife photographer for more than three years. I mostly shoot birds, and so far I am having great success with this lens, over my other 55-250mm lens. I have been posting my nature photos onto three separate nature groups and have been get compliments on my shots. A definite thumbs up.

When I first heard about the price of this Canon EF 100-400mm lens, I wasn't sure at first if the price ofthis lens was worth it until I compared it to my other Canon telephoto zoom lens. I have been using the 100-300 for two years. I must say, the Canon EF 100-400mm is way better. The photos taken are very sharp. I tried taking shots with Canon 70D too. The 100-400 photos were better and crisper. My photos are displayed in a couple of galleries. Thus, I was looking for a lens that delivers sharp images, and this one definitely does.

brilliant quality images

I have been using the Canon EF 100-400mm lens for my sports photography projects. It provides you brilliant quality in both day and night lighting conditions. I have been using this new Canon telephoto lens along with my 24-105. Having these two lenses provides me a great focal range to cover all kinds of shots and conditions. I would recommend that you use this lens coupled with an appropriately sized tripod and a Canon 7D. If you need to click high intensity and fast moving pictures at most times, definitely go for this one. Although placed at a slight higher end of the price spectrum, it is still absolutely worth it.
