These elements keep a check on chromatic and spherical aberrations, and maintain clarity and sharpness throughout the zoom range. The Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating on the elements reduces ghosting and lens flare. This lens can focus on an object that is as close as 9.8 inches. Moreover, the laser-engraved focusing and DOF scales with IR position dot and hard stops help get the appropriate depth of field when using the manual-focus mode. You may use a de-click tool with the manual aperture ring, thanks to the clicked indicators. Its weather-sealed design only reaffirms the outdoor working capability of this Zeiss lens.
