The DJI Intelligent Flight Battery for Mavic Quadcopter is designed to feature its own integrated battery-management system, which takes into account the amount of power being used, temperature, remaining voltage, & more, to help calculate your remaining flight time, so that you know when it is time to head home. The flight battery also has a number of protection mechanisms to help prevent overcharging, as well as over draining, which tends to damage a LiPo battery permanently. If you need to store your flight battery for a longer period of time, it should be stored at 50%, or it will damage the battery. If the battery is left unused, it will discharge power until it reaches 50% to maintain health.
If you live in a cold place or plan to fly on a winter break, low-temperature protection will activate. The DJI Flight Battery also features a low-temperature protection function, which controls available propulsion power, based on the temperature of the battery.
