Overview

Podcasters who are looking for the right microphone for a professional-quality sound have a great option with Rode's PodMic Dynamic Podcasting Microphone. The PodMic is a cost-effective, stylish, end-address dynamic XLR microphone, which is specifically designed for speech and broadcast. Tailor-made for use with the RODECaster Pro podcast production studio, this XLR microphone can also be plugged into a range of pro audio gear to produce broadcast-quality sound. Most podcasts happen in home studios, bedrooms or offices with difficult acoustics and outside noise. The PodMic has a dynamic capsule with a tight cardioid polar pattern, which is great for picking up the person who is speaking, while reducing unwanted outside sounds.

With its end-address design, Rode's PodMic allows you to get up close to the microphone to create intimate, broadcast-style voice recordings with a warm and deep tone. Its compact size allows you and your guests to have a clear view of one another and enjoy a comfortable talking experience. The microphone's size allows for it to stay out of the camera's way when videocasting. Designed using Solid-brass construction, with a matte-black ceramic finish, the PodMic is able to deliver a consistent level of performance over the years, while still looking sharp.

The PodMic's internal pop filter and double-mesh housing are able to work to together to reduce distracting breath and plosive noises (such as in "s", "p", and "b" sounds), without the need for an external pop filter. The internal shockmount helps isolate the PodMic from dealing with noise and vibrations when you are adjusting the microphone, or if there's a bump or slap on the table. Its integrated swing mount, which holds the microphone further away, insulates it from low-frequency noises, which  can easily ruin your audio. The two wing nuts on each side of its built-in mount allow you to quickly swing the microphone into the necessary orientation, then lock it into place. Mounting the PodMic on a broadcast boom arm (not included) creates flexibility regarding positioning the microphone exactly where you want it.

You are also able to pair the PodMic with the powerful RODECaster Pro podcast production studio to get the most out of your microphone. There is a PodMic microphone preset in the RODECaster Pro's audio options, which matches the digital signal processing and is automatically applied. This gives your voice the depth, presence, and hint of shimmer that goes along with top professional radio broadcasters.
