A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The Fujifilm X-H1 Mirrorless Digital Camera with Booster Grip and XF 16-55mm Lens is the latest camera in the brand's X-series. The camera comes with a Vertical Power Booster grip for enhanced functionality. Along with extended battery life and easy portrait shooting, the booster grip provides extended video recording for up to 30 minutes in 4K, as well as improved burst, shot performance when it is set to Boost mode. Two additional NP-W126S batteries are included in this kit. Additionally, the 120fps slow-motion videos offer 1080p resolution. The X-H1 offers an improved autofocus performance in low light condition than its predecessors. With this camera, you get 400% dynamic range setting of up to 12 stops and 200 Mbps high bit rate recording option. The camera features in-body image stabilization that compensates for the camera shakes for up to 5.5 stops. Thanks to the Flicker Reduction mode, you can shoot sports events indoors with high shutter speeds.

Optics and Focus

The XF 16-55mm Lens is 17 elements in 12 groups, with an optical design offering three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements that control chromatic aberrations while the three aspherical elements reduce spherical aberrations and distortion in the entire zoom range. The Nano-GI and HT-EBC coating applied to the lens elements alter the refractive index, minimize surface reflections, and prevent any lens flare and ghosting that may occur. While shooting at small apertures, the Lens Modulation Optimiser technology further corrects for diffraction and offers sharpness. There are 14 weather seals incorporated on the lens barrel that render it moisture and dust resistants. The 9-blade circular diaphragm gives pleasing out-of-focus highlights.

Sensor and Screen

The mirrorless digital camera has a 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III Sensor, providing vibrant images. The 3-inch 1.04m-dot LCD screen can be used to playback videos. You can also tilt the LCD screen in three directions and shoot pictures from different angles. The camera also has 0.75x 3.69m-Dot Electronic Viewfinder. The current shutter speed, aperture, white balance, and other functions can be viewed on a sub-LCD screen is located at the top of the camera.

Image and Video

The Fujifilm X-H1 Mirrorless Digital Camera can record full HD videos with the Internal DCI 4K Video and streamline your workflow with the F-Log Gamma. You can also utilize the 120 fps mode to record 1080p at 120 fps videos in slow motion. Add cinematic aesthetics to your videos with the Flicker Reduction Mode and ETERNA, a film simulation mode. The mode helps us you flexibility during post-production as it produces understated colors and rich shadow tones. The flicker reduction modes keep the exposure stable when shooting burst images in fluorescent and mercury lighting.

Other Features

With dedicated buttons located on the rare side, you can enlarge the images and view your photos. The top hot shoe can be used to attach an external flash and synchronize it with the shutter at 1/250th of a second. The new on-off button and a leaf-Spring and Summer switch make operating the camera easy. This new Fujifilm camera has a 25% thicker magnesium alloy body than the previous X-series models. The Fujifilm NP-W126S Li-Ion battery pack powers this digital camera.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
