Megapixels:
A megapixel is one million pixels. It is commonly used to describe the resolution of digital cameras. For example, a 7.2 megapixel camera is capable of capturing roughly 7,200,000 pixels. The higher the megapixel number, the more detail the camera can capture. Therefore, the megapixel count is a significant specification to look for when buying a digital camera.

Overview

The Fujifilm X-A5 Mirrorless Digital Camera is the perfect catch for beginners and amateur enthusiasts. Bundled with the compact camera are the XC 15–45mm and 50–230mm zoom lenses. The camera uses a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor for rendering up to 24.2 MP photos and Full HD videos. With the updated image processor, the camera performs 1.5× faster than its predecessors as well as ensures a continuous shooting speed of 6 fps. Additionally, you can also capture 4K stills at 15 fps. The intelligent hybrid AF system benefit image and video capture for stationary and moving subjects. This Fujifilm mirrorless camera inherits the celluloid aspects of classic film rolls to bring variety in the overall photography experience. The built-in Bluetooth seamlessly synchronizes your smartphone with the camera for transferring image and videos.

Optics and Focus

Two zoom lenses are provided with the Fujifilm X-A5: the XC 15–45mm f/3.5–5.6 and XC 50–230mm f/4.5–6.7. Other Fujifilm X series lenses can also be mounted on the camera. These lenses have aspherical surfaces and Extra-low Dispersion elements in their optical construction to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations. The silent autofocus motor is another common factor in both the lenses, which ensures speedy and noiseless autofocus. On the XC 15–45mm lens, there is a powered zoom switch with two-speed settings for accurate and swift focal length adjustment. The optical image stabilization is featured in these lenses, which cuts down unwanted camera shakes. A rounded 7-blade diaphragm is built into both the lenses for pleasant bokeh. Back to the Fujifilm X-A5, it employs the intelligent hybrid AF system that includes phase-detection points to provide precision during the autofocus operation. The camera has a multi-focus mode that blends 4K pictures taken at different focus points to create a composite image with a deep depth of field.

Sensor and Screen

The Fujifilm X-A5 takes advantage of the 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor to capture high-resolution stills and videos. With the rear 3.0-inch LCD, you get a live view of the scene in 1040K-dot resolution. Additionally, the tilting design allows you to frame the shot from high or low angles. As the LCD has touchscreen functionality, you can easily access different menus and image settings.

Image and Video

The Fujifilm X-A5 can capture photos with a maximum resolution of 6000×4000 pixels. You can keep the image setting in JPEG for instant sharing. Select the RAW format for obtaining additional control over the picture look. In the video mode, the camera records Full HD 1080p videos at 60 fps. Apart from the native 6 fps continuous shooting, you can choose the 4K burst mode to take consecutive images at 15 fps. The Portrait Enhancer levels the skin tones to give a flawless look to the subject. Bring uniqueness to the captured photos with the included advanced filters and film simulation modes. The exposure compensation dial, which has an adjustment range of ±5 EV stops, allows you to brighten or darken the image.

Other Feature

The Bluetooth connectivity in the Fujifilm X-A5 makes it easy to send photos and videos to smartphones. With the built-in flash, you can take well-illuminated pictures in the dark. An external flash can also be mounted on the hot shoe. You can synchronize both the mounted and integrated flash with the shutter speed at 1/180th of a second. The camera supports time-lapse capture with the interval timer. The camera can be powered by using the included NP-W126S Li-ion battery pack.

The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
