As someone who first learned to capture light on film emulsions, photographing with the Leica M9 Digital Rangefinder rekindles many fond memories for me. The finely crafted metal chassis reminds me of the way cameras should be made. Readjusting yourself to manually focusing a camera is a breeze with the large bright rangefinder in the M9. The shutter sound is so quiet and pleasant that it would not wake a sleeping infant. Image quality is superb and the full line of legendary Leica M-Mount lenses are able to take full advantage of the 18 Megapixel Full-Frame sensor inside. Finally a camera with a menu system that is simple and easy to use. Leica has kept photographers in mind. Access to important settings is direct and no time is wasted digging through senseless menus.
