The dual FAST AF system includes 121 on-chip phase-detection points that are cross-type to ensure precision in variable lighting. Also, there are 121 contrast detection points when shooting a moving object in cluttered imagery. A dedicated button is provided for selecting the focusing modes. In the manual focus mode, the camera gives control over the image look with the focus peaking function. The 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization cuts down the shaky movement.
Sensor and Screen
The Olympus E-M1 Mark II render vibrant colors using the 20.4 MP Live MOS sensor. A 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD is located at the rear, which provides 1.04m-dot resolution live view. Its vari-angle design lets you frame the shot from high and low angles. Alternatively, the 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers a clear view of the scene as well as lets you preview the exposure beforehand. The simulated optical viewfinder mode increases the dynamic range of the live view in bright or high-contrast lighting.
Image and Video
The camera captures images in JPEG and RAW in a maximum resolution of 5184×3888 pixels. In the video mode, you may record videos in DCI or UHD 4K as well as 1080p. The TruePic VIII dual quad-core processor supports the 60 fps RAW continuous shooting by boosting the camera performance throughout its system. With the Time-lapse Movie mode, the camera records changes in the scene such as moving clouds or fast-rushing traffic overtime in UHD 4K, 1080p, or 720p. Enable the Pro Capture Mode by half-pressing the shutter release button to begin the recording immediately. The Live Composite mode combines different long exposure shots where the changes are recorded gradually while keeping the key elements intact.
